Free Agency: Day One

The opening day of the World Football Alliance Free Agency period kicked off yesterday and it's no surprise what names are garnering the most interest from teams and could be signing the most lucrative contracts from the Free Agency Period. Here's a quick rundown of the current top offers and some rumors floating around the wire!

CB | Curt McDuffie - The top defensive player from Season 4 has had his phone line tied up for most of the last 24 hours, fielding offers from four teams including the Colorado Clash who currently have the top offer out to McDuffie - a 3 year Gold Contract with a $1.5 million dollar signing bonus. McDuffie will surely garner larger offers going through the week-long free agency period and it will be interesting to see if Colorado ends up being the S4 DPOY's new home. FS | Abdul Hodge - Staying in the defensive secondary is another player that is major interest from WFA teams, the premiere free agent at the Free Safety position has offers from five different franchises including the top offer from the Tri-Cities Fever a 4 year Gold Contract and a $25 signing bonus that is surely to be over taken in the coming days. If a team wants the best overall safety in the league they're going to have to shell out more than just a dinner for two at Sizzler. QB | Nick Mollineaux - One of only two Quarterbacks with offers currently, the former Tokyo signal caller is talks with the Flint Firebirds who released their starting QB this offseason and are looking for the QB of the future. The current offer stands at 2 year Gold contracts with a $25,000 signing bonus. One would have to imagine other teams will come calling for the only gold tier QB in the season five free agency pool.

RB | Chris Dixon - Finally, we round out day one's rundown with a feel good story in the making. Former standout running back Chris Dixon is the only running back currently fielding multiple offers and it looks like both Charleston and Miami are interested in opening up the checkbook to bring in the returning veteran - both teams have offered him a four year Gold contract with a $1 million signing bonus. Someone is going to have to pay more to get Dixon in their stable.

TE | Alan Rugerio is garnering major offers and is not expected to resign with Green Bay FS | Beau Bacon may be the most sought out after player in Free Agency with numerous teams reaching out.
